Victory over Camelon secures third SuperLeague title

Our victory over a spirited Camelon team secured our third SuperLeague title last night, which was presented to both Ross Archibald & Johnny Stewart by Jim Provan & Chic Spence to rapturous applause by the home faithful.
Few gave us a chance at the start of the season, and fewer still after defeats to St Andrews and Linlithgow in our opening three games. However, it was five months before we were defeated again (Pollok) and six months in the SuperLeague (Bo'ness), which laid the foundation to the celebrations at New Dundas Park last night.

We would like to thank all of the playing squad, as each and every one of them have played their part, and the management team of Robbie, Davie, Jim & Danielle for their superb efforts over the course of this season. We would also like to place on record our thanks to our sponsors and our fans, both new & old, for their support over the duration of the season, without whom there simply wouldn't be a club.
A big thanks to the Penmans who filmed our game last night so those who couldn't make it have the opportunity to watch, or those that were there like me who has watched it about a dozen times since!
A special mention also to all of the young academy players and their coaches who turned up to watch the "Big Rose" last night. When myself and the rest of the committee took to the pitch to applaud the fans before the players came back out, and when the fans applauded in return, to have fifty or sixty of our youngsters leading the chants of "Championees, Championees" will stay with me for a long time to come, and I know having spoken to some of the other committee members today that they feel the same.

We will be doing a tour of the local hostelries in the community with the league trophy on Saturday to show our appreciation for the support we have received this season.

The season is by no means over as we have a Fife & Lothians Cup semi final next Wednesday and our final League game of the campaign at home to local rivals Penicuik Athletic next Saturday. Hope to see you all on the dates above.
