Thoughts from the manager on the past seven days

Two good results in the last two games which keeps us going for a bit longer but we won't complain as long we have something to show for our efforts.

Saturday we were up at Jeanfield and a bit short of bodies but the players put in a pretty good performance first half and to be honest we should have put the game out of site. As it was Jeanfield came out second half and performed really well pulling a goal back and putting us under pressure. We needed the third goal to settle the nerves and after that we saw the game out well.

The one disappointing moment in the game was the sending off big Kiddo after a poor challenge on Jordan. The big man was sticking up for his team mate which you would expect and there was no attempt to head butt the player which I think the highlights show and Ross Gunnion the Jeanfield manager confirmed so will appeal that decision, With other players missing through injury and suspension when we can not afford anyone else being unavailable.

Against Kelty I had 13 players available including two goalies, with Archie and Kleishy coming back to help out with unfit Jonny Stewart on the bench. What we got was a superb effort from the players with a great spirit amongst them and they stood strong to get us a result. Truth be told it wasn't a great football match, it was just a battle and in a tight match similar to the Glenafton games but this time we came out on top. The only real chance in the game fell to us and their keeper made a good save from Al Horne.

Penalties again and similar to Bo'ness they were all pretty good and fortunately enough Michael guessed right for their last one. He deserved to be the hero Michael, he has come back superbly after the Hibs game and probably doesn't get the credit he deserves. He has shown lots of heart and character to come back from that and if you look back over the course of the season he has kept a lot of clean sheets and made lots of vital saves. Also got to credit the boys that were brave enough to step up and take a penalty. It takes bottle and hats off to Lewis Turner for proving a point with his.

Tomorrow we face a very tough game away at Broughty who are pushing to finish 5th in the league and also have a cup final to look forward to. I know Gibby will have his players up for the game and it's so important that we take confidence and belief from Wednesday to try and get a result. We are down to the bare bones again with injuries, suspensions and weddings so two under 21's have been added to the squad for tomorrow. If we can get the same effort and desire as Wednesday night we'll do alright.

All the best!
