Thoughts from the manager on the cup final.

Last one of what has felt like a long season!

Firstly congratulations to all at Penicuik on winning the Fife & Lothians Cup. There wasn't a lot in the game but they took their chances and defended well and we didn't so they deserve to win. Looks like I will be going into hiding in my hometown then!!

For me it was just one game too far for us and was a disappointing way to end the season. It seems an age ago since we won the league and also having to wait 10 days since our last game to play didn't help and we just weren't at the races. The league games Penicuik had kept them ticking over and they looked hungrier for it and on a tight pitch we just couldn't get going.

I can't be too critical of the players though as overall they have been fantastic this season and after last night it could be easy to forget what they have achieved. We are the Super League Champions and over the course of the season we have been the best team in the East Region, disappointing we didn't show it to the neutrals at the game last night but that's football and anyone who has seen us play this season would tell you we have been.

We go away and lick our wounds from the cup final, re-charge the batteries and I hope to bring a few fresh faces over the summer to strengthen the squad so we can again compete on all fronts again next season and try retain the title.

Hope you have enjoyed the weekly view over the course of the season.

All the best!

Robbie
