Thoughts from the manager on the past seven days.

Almost there!!! Feels like we have been on the brink of winning it for so long now!

Firstly we had a great result Tuesday in the cup against Tranent the South League Champions. I thought last Saturday we looked dead on our feet against Hill of Beath and had to freshen things up. The boys that came in looked full of energy and looked sharp right from the first whistle and we just never gave a Tranent a minutes peace and blew them away first half. Obviously the sending off early helped but I don't think anyone could have any complaints about that

To their credit Tranent stuck to their task second half and made it more difficult for us and I'm sure with a couple of additions they will do well next season in the Premier. For me it was great to see all the squad contributing again and as I've said all season I know that I can count on anyone in the squad to do a job for us. We played some great football on the night and scored some good goals none better than Ross Drummond's great run and finish. Ross has been unlucky in that he has come to a team that is flying high and his opportunities have been limited. He would be first to admit he has lost confidence a bit in the last year or so but I'm hoping he can regain that and be the player once again I know he can be.

We travelled up to Carnousite yesterday with the possibility of becoming Super League Champions. There was a superb following up too in anticipation that today was the day but it wasn't to be. No disrespect to Camelon but I expected Kelty to win as they are current Champions and are not going to give up the title without a fight. However when the game was going on and we were getting fed the score from Camelon/Kelty game you start to think this is it maybe today is the day. The players and coaching staff were all a bit flat after the game but that soon wore of when we got on the bus and had a few well earned beers and a couple more when we got back to the club.

The game itself and I thought we were excellent and were at it right from the start. Our front three were causing lots of problems, our midfield were dominating and back four and Michael were solid. We were well on top first half and though we started the second half slowly we finished the game strong. Again we played some great football, scored some top goals, including a great strike from Jonny Stewart. Jonny is probably a player that doesn't get the credit he deserves with the role that he plays so it was great for him to score a goal like that as he is another that has been outstanding this season.

So on to Wednesday (no idea why we haven't got a game next Saturday by the way especially after playing for 5 mid weeks in a row!!!!) and it's a chance to finally seal it. There's been lots of talk about it already being done and dusted but I'm not thinking like that and no way do we want to be thinking about winning it on goal difference. As I've said to the players after the Linlithgow game, go and win all your remaining games and show everyone we are the best team in the league. Again Camelon are not going to make it easy for us as they are still scrapping for their lives at the bottom so we have to go and earn it but if we show the same attitude, desire, team spirit and ability we have shown throughout the season then I'm sure we will be celebrating on Wednesday night with hopefully a big home support in attendance.

All the best!

Robbie
