Thoughts from the manager over the past seven days.

It was frustrating to lose another game to the weather as it's another one we need to catch up with and it's looking like there will be a number of mid week games come the end of the season. This is one of the reasons I added Kerr Young to the squad this week as we are going to need all 19 bodies now if we want to compete on all fronts.

Kerr I know from my time at Berwick and to be honest he has lost his way a bit since breaking through at Dunfermline and playing in their first team. He was a regular at Berwick but became surplus to requirements and lost his appetite for the game. He has recently played games as a trialist at a couple of other clubs and was offered a better deal elsewhere but wanted to come to Bonnyrigg which shows great commitment. There is no doubt in my mind a fit and focused Kerr Young should be playing at higher level and it's up to him to shown that and I think he knows now that he has to knuckle down and show everyone his capabilities.

With the game being off yesterday the players trained at the Corn Exchange with Dave and Jim while I headed through with the committee to the Pollok versus Auchinleck game. It wasn't the best of games but conditions were difficult with a strong wind and heavy pitch. Pollok started the game really well and looked dangerous going forward with the Robbie & Davie Winters catching the eye along with Carlo Monti who scored an early goal which in the end decided the game. I was also impressed with their captain Paul Gallacher who played at the back and I remembered from his Queens Park days.

I left the game with a bit more info than I went with but still know that we will have to be at our best to progress against a well organised, hard working and spirited side that have good quality in the final third. I think it's going to be a great game and if we can perform like we can we will have a chance..

Downfield again pencilled in for next Saturday, lets hope there is an improvement in weather but it doesn't look great.

All the best.

Robbie
