League match day 17 sees Bonnyrigg back on the road again, with a first trip to the Meggetland Sports Complex to face Tynecastle FC. In the reverse fixture in October the Rose clocked up their highest score this season to date, running out 13-1 victors at New Dundas Park but there has been much change at Tynie since then with changes to both playing and management personnel.
Former Hearts striker Calum Elliot has been in charge of the Edinburgh outfit since the end of November and that has correlated with an upturn in fortunes, in particular since the start of the year with a notable draw at home to Bo'ness Utd and victories vs Dalkeith Thistle and Burntisland Shipyard.
There have also been changes on the Rose playing front since the last competitive fixture v Sauchie two weeks ago, with Kyle Wilson moving to Kelty Hearts and Aaron Murrell joining following his release from Berwick and the young frontman is available for the trip to Meggetland. All of Robbie Horn's games to date since his second coming have resulted in wins for his side and he will be keen to keep that run going on Saturday.
Only one game in the whole EoS League went ahead last weekend so hopefully a few more go ahead on Saturday. In respect of our game we were informed at Thursday's EoS meeting that there was still a touch of frost due to the cover on the stand side but given the wind and rain of the last 24 hours, and in particular the wind forecast tomorrow the expectation is that the game will go ahead, but will insist on an inspection from a referee early Saturday morning if required and will inform our supporters across our social media platforms if there are any changes to the planned 14:30 kick off. Our supporters are reminded that the majority of people in Edinburgh tomorrow will be focusing on the oval rather than round ball with the Six Nations fixture between Scotland and Ireland taking place at Murrayfield at 14:15 so please leave enough time to make our game in good time.
