New Dundas Park will get a well deserved break after four successive home games for Bonnyrigg, as they will be first footers at the nearby King's Park for league match day 14 where they will face Dalkeith Thistle on Saturday. The reverse fixture last September saw the Rose take the spoils 6-0. Cup exits from the South Challenge and Qualifying cup happened in quick succession for the Jags following that defeat at New Dundas Park , but they have put a decent league run together since and are currently in third position after 13 games played. There are teams below Dalkeith with games in hand on them but with only six points covering third to eighth in the Conference and with all of those teams still to play each other at least once between now and the end of the season, the Jags are in a good position to attain a position in the league which would ensure that they are in the top tier of the East of Scotland next season.
The Christmas period was a good one for the Rose which saw them keep their winning run going following victories over Sauchie and Tranent at New Dundas Park, which also ensured they completed 2018 unbeaten at home in league games. Manager Robbie Horn will be hoping that some of the playing squad have managed to shake off some of the bugs that have been doing the rounds and will be looking to bring a team fit and raring to go in the second Midlothian derby of the season.
