Wednesday night sees our first home fixture of the season with the visit of local rivals Newtongrange Star to New Dundas Park.

There will be some familiar faces among the visitors among both players and management team, with Star manager Alan Miller and his team of Ian Black and Finlay Wells lifting the SuperLeague with Bonnyrigg in season 08/09 and David Dunn, Stevie Noble, Kris Renton and Brian Murray all having played at New Dundas Park for the home side previously.

Newtongrange have strengthened during the close season with the addition of Ex Berwick midfielders Lee Currie (unavailable for Wednesday due to suspension), Kevin Hamilton (Leith Ath), Kevin Motion (Spartans), and defenders Stevie Tulloch (Berwick) and the aforementioned Murray (Civil Service Strollers).

The home side will be looking to bounce back after an opening day defeat at the hands of St Andrews and will be hoping for a repeat of the result the last time the sides met at New Dundas Park back in May this year where a Conor Thomson (penalty) and Ross Archibald strike was enough to take all three points.

Billy Bald and Conor Thomson return to the home squad after being unavailable on Saturday and despite red cards shown to Johnny Brown and Newtongrange's Kris Renton both will be available for the local derby as suspensions won't kick in until the weekend.
